"The Full Minty"

Early in March 2003,  I returned home from work to find an e-mail from BBC Radio Kent Presenter and Journalist, Claire Minter. She was looking into making a programme for Good Friday about learning a new skill and if I could help. She wanted to learn to ring before the transmission of the programme and chat to ringers about ringing and generally finding out about the Exercise. This seemed like a grand opportunity for a free plug on Radio Kent, so I followed it up with her. 

 After some discussion, we agreed the challenge – to be able to at least ring rounds on the front 6 at Rochester Cathedral on Palm Sunday as part of our Sunday Service ringing. This gave us about 4 weeks to teach Claire basic handling in order for her to competently ring rounds unaided by 13th April.
