Rochester Cathedral

Company of Bell Ringers

Visitor Information

Visiting ringers are welcome to join us, however please contact us at least a day before in order to arrange your visit to the Cathedral.

If you are wanting to visit the Cathedral as part of a ringing tour, or to arrange to ring a Quarter Peal or Full Peal, please contact us first to check availability.  We prefer visiting bands to come on a weekend between 2.00 and 3.15 and ring prior to Evensong. We usually allow a maximum of four peals to be rung every year and prefer peals to be rung on a Saturday morning, starting at 10.00. Finally, please bear in mind that these are not easy bells to ring due to their weight and the size of the rope circle.

Please note that there are many events taking place in and around Rochester Cathedral, so it may not be possible to grant your request. Please apply at least 6 weeks before your intended visit as we will need to complete and approve safeguarding documentation in line with the Cathedral's policies for visiting groups.

If you are interested in learning to ring at the Cathedral, take a look at the Learning to Ring section for more information

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to offer public tours of the Ringing Chamber and bells, but should you wish to visit these areas, please contact us and we will endeavour to make arrangements for such a visit.
